About
Hello, let me introduce myself…I’m Carla. I am a daughter of the King, a contented wife, a busy mother and a purposeful woman who desires to make her life count.
Now that the serious introductions are out of the way…. I am really a radically saved sinner in love with her Lord, who by the grace of God married the love of her life, Richard, after going down the wrong road – more than once; an overzealous mom who passionately loves her five kids – although they aren’t “kids” anymore at 25, 24, 23, 20 & 18!
Justin, Jordan, Elizabeth (& her husband, Matthew), Emily and Jacob give me more than just fodder for blogging – they give me balance to my crazy, unbalanced life!
I serve as the director of an always growing, multi-faceted homeschool organization and love every minute (okay – almost every minute) of serving this fantastic group of families.
I love kids – mine, yours, all of them!
I love BOOKS – and now have the “library” to prove it!
I am a creative, driven, sometimes energetic (with enough caffeine) woman who hates numbers (especially when they are on clothing tags!) but who still ultimately desires to make her life count for Christ!
I love my life – the good days and the not so good days.
Several years ago when I had my first scare with breast cancer, I was screaming at the Lord (literally) in my shower through tears of fear, and said to Him, “Please don’t take me home yet – my kids need me, my husband needs me, and I’m not ready to leave yet – please give me more days.” I felt and heard His words…”Why my child? You don’t make the days I have given you count.”
So from that moment on my mantra has been “Make this Day Count” -
I live it, I love it, and I encourage you to do the same.
Thanks for joining me as I blog my way through “Making it Count!”
